PalmCon turned out to be a wonderful surprise, about ten of us went last Saturday. With a whole bunch of impulse buys and great cosplays, PalmCon turned out to be a great hit. The convention brought in over 2000 people to the convention center in one day. Only about a quarter of those people actually cosplayed, giving them the spotlight.
All the convention goers left with shopping bags of art and collectibles in their hands, with most comics going for $1 an issue, and toys and art galore. I myself spent $150 on several things including a latex Cratos mask, two action figures and several art pieces.
Walking in to the convention you were met with the stars of the convention, however hiding in the back of the center was a life size Tardis that you could stand in and take pictures and a working Ecto-1 with the full gang of the ghost busters with it.
Granted PalmCon wasn't a traditional convention with events and guests, a lot of people still had fun, provided there was money in your pocket.
